Trie Michaud- Visual Artist/ Maker/ Photographer
Trie has been mixing life with photography for as long as she can remember. Her style is photojournalistic – focusing on natural moments, but also blending in some artistic styling. “I enjoy capturing genuine moments, not creating those moments, but seeing them unfold in front of me. Moments like these are pure with emotion and hold life as it was in that instant.”
Trie holds an Associate in Science Degree from Quinsigamond Community College. She has been photographing since childhood when she got her first camera (a brownie-110 film) from her Grandfather at age 4. She specializes in events, portraiture, pet, nature photography.
Since graduating from college in 1998 she has been experimenting in all creative avenues including web design, graphic design, painting, and drawing to tap into her own creative style. Photography has been her favorite medium but has recently been exploring more ways to incorporate her photographic images into her new passion, which is fluid art painting, which she learned in the winter months of 2017.
In 2014 Trie attended her first music festival, Gathering of the Vibes in Bridgeport Connecticut, and fell in love with the whole experience. All the positive energy it brings to her reflects in her persona and in her work. From the graphic images created from the music she listens to or the photographic portraits of musical artists. She is now renowned for her rebirthing name #Hugatrie, which brings smiles to everyone she meets (along with the best hugs of course).
Hugatrie LLC was started in 2018 with the inspiration of her favorite band from Vermont called Twiddle. Trie showcased her art for the first time to the public at the Metronome in Burlington Vermont at an art show called PhanArt during the Twiddle Tumble Down Festival on July 29th, 2017. Since then you can see Trie’s work online, at festivals, and at local farmers’ markets. You can also see Trie drawing live during local music performances all over the United States. She’s done live art during bands/musicians performances such as Jackie Venson, Annie In the Water, Josh Dobbs, and BooYah. If you want Trie to do live art for your event , just contact her by gong to contact page.
Trie’s current artistic expression is Neurographic Art. An art therapy style that has been helping her work through her feelings creatively through the current Covid Pandemic, the loss of her best friend of 20 yrs, and her divorce. Working through her feelings by drawing has given her a sense of freedom in her art that can not be explained. She has been a digital artist for the most part of her creative journey but finds having a pen and paper in hand much more natural. You can find her portfolio on Behance.
