Living a Minimalistic Lifestyle

Due to a several life changing events I have had to eliminate and organize my belongings to a small space which is my shuttle bus home. My space is limited to 6ft x 20ft. Clutter is not an option and it’s proven it creates stress on a person. Those of you that have the space, probably have so much stuff you don’t even know you own. By eliminating or cleaning up your living area, you can make room for less stress and have more room for activities LOL

I’ve watched many videos and read lots of books about purging your STUFF and living a minimalist lifestyle. It’s exactly what I need to help me feel free from stress. We all accumulate items over the years from our own purchasing and when a family member dies we accumulate their stuff. I eliminated lots of things and kept just the items that have a purpose or that just make me happy.

I have now made it my mission to help my friends and others eliminate what is not needed in your life so you can live more freely and with less stress. I revisit my things daily. This is why it is a lifestyle and not a quick fix.

Living a Stress Free Minimalistic Lifestyle you must start purging your STUFF. Do it for yourself and your loved ones. Start now!!

Here are a few things you can do today to purge items that do not bring joy or purpose to your life in order to live a minimalistic lifestyle.

Start Small. Find a draw or a closet. Remove and empty all its contents. Make 3 piles : Keep, Sell, Donate.

KEEP and organize the items that you use often. Ask yourself when was the last time you used it? Keep only the items that have a clear purpose and that have more than one use for it. Locate your existing empty containers and baskets you already own and then organize and label your KEEP pile. Put them back in your draw or closet in a neat manner. You can find great storage ideas at the dollar stores. If they aren’t the right color for your decor, you can just paint them to match. Labeling your bins is a great way to find them easy and helps others know where things are to put them away.

SELL pile items can be listed on Facebook Marketplace, Town Flea markets, or selling Apps.

DONATE pile may get bigger if you do not sell the items you were hoping, but don’t keep them!!. I have a rule that I will try to sell for 30 days and then, I give to friends or donate to Savers. I try not to let things go in the landfill.  Don’t forget to fill out itemized sheet for tax time!!

I wish you luck and happy organizing. If you are feeling overwhelmed and do not know where to start??
